Elie Wiesel- He is the main character of the book. He would must likely be a Flat, Dynamic and a Character Foil. In the beginning of the book he did not really tell much about himself which made him a Flat character. After everything that happened at the camp it really had changed him a lot. His personality and his feelings towards his religion. He had to lie about his age just so he could of lived. Which this makes him a Dynamic character also. He also seems to be a Character Foil because he is opposite of his father. Elie is more to the point were he isn't scared to do or say something and is willing safe someone else then himself.
Moche the Beadle- He would be described as a Round and Dynamic character. Round because the book really describe him really well. For example it told us were he work at; worked at a Hasidic synagogue. It also said that he was very poor and lived humbly. They all so described him as being awkward as a clown. It really described him really well. And he is also Dynamic because after being taken and brought back by the SS German soldiers he was never the same and no one believe what happened to him.
Father- He would be known as a Round, and Static character . He is a round character because it says some things about him but it really doesn't describe him as much. The book says,"My father was a cultured, rather unsentimental man. There was never any display of emotion, even at home. He was more concerned with others than with his own family." He's a static character also because during the whole book he was basically the same. He was really quiet and never really said anything. For example camp if he got hit he would not react or say anything. This makes him a static character because he stayed the same throughout the book.
Dr.Josef Mengele- He is a Round character because they book somewhat described him well. He was a cruel doctor who presided over the selection of the people who arrived at Birkenau in Auschwitz. He was also known as the "Angel of Death." He also choice the people that would go to the left or the right to live and work or go into the crematory. He also did experiments on people without and medicine to make them numb or to fall asleep, so they could feel all the pain.
Mother and Hilda, Bea, and Tzipora (Sister's)- They were all flat characters. They were all flat because at the beginning of the book it really does not say much about them. When they arrived at the camp they went all to the crematory because they were women and there was a child and the Nazis didn't need them.
